The Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information (R.Q. c. A-2.1, r.0.2) requires that public bodies make documents and information available to the public through their websites. This stipulation is in keeping with the government's desire to provide greater transparency. On this web page you can directly access a variety of documents as specified in the Regulation.
An Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (L.R.Q., c. A-2.1) also recognizes that in addition to the right of access to documents, individuals have the right to access personal information. Individuals may also request that a file be corrected if the information is either inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous, or if the collection, release or keeping of the information is not authorized by law.
